More Albariño planted

The second phase of Albariño plantings has taken place at Ancre Hill Estates. The white grape variety which hails from Galicia, North-west Spain has now entirely replaced the Seyval blanc which was planted at the vineyard’s inception in 2006. With the proven quality of the Chardonnay we are producing, from the 2007 plantings, the decision was made to concentrate on this variety for sparkling production and replace the Seyval blanc with something which better reflects our site and cultural methods for still white wine production.

The first vintage of Ancre Hill Estates Albariño is expected to be 2014. Keep an eye out on the news page for release dates and harvest details.
