Ancre Hill Estates has made its final release of Seyval blanc. The 2012 still ‘White’ wine is the last to be produced from the 2008 Bollicine del Mondo winning variety which has now all been removed to make way for further plantings of Albariño. The wine shows the same freshness synonymous with previous offerings and, despite the appalling weather during the growing season, great balance and a development of flavours. This can be attributed to greater vine age, but must also be considered a testament to the impact of biodynamic practices adopted since 2010.
On its release Richard Morris commented, “The 2012 White shows an even greater vibrancy than previous vintages. Since becoming biodynamic we have noticed an increase in the ‘flavour’ of all our grapes and this is perfectly illustrated in the 2012 white. There are intense summer meadow aromas, with hints of apple, quince and nettles. I hope our customers enjoy drinking it as much as we are!”
The 2012 White is available from the cellar door here at the estate and from many of our trade customers. Click on the ‘Cellar door’ icon for details of our opening times and the ‘Stockists’ icon for a retailer near you.
